Cultivars
The following cultivars require fertile, moist but well drained soil in a semi shaded to full sun position. They are frost and drought tender and have a medium water requirement once established. 'Atropurpurea'
This spreading perennial has dark purple to bronze leaves otherwise it is the same as the species.

'Black Scallop'
This evergreen perennial grows to 100mm (4in) tall by 800mm (32in) wide with leaves that are shades of purple-brown to black with ruffled margins. It produces short spikes with deep blue flowers that appear from spring to summer.
