This coniferous tree forms a conical habit a to 10 m (30 ft) tall 9 m (27 ft) wide with thread-like golden foliage with scale leaves giving it a pendulous habit. It grows 300 mm per year and is planted along borders for colour contrast.

'Brunniana' Brunning's Golden Cypress
This popular coniferous tree grows to 10 m (30 ft) tall by 3 m (10 ft) wide, forming a fastigiate habit with one or more leaders. The foliage is yellow in an open sunny position and is shaded positions reverts to green.

'Erecta Aurea'
This upright coniferous tree forms an almost fastigiate habit up to 9 m (27 ft) tall by 4 m (12 ft) wide and produces mainly adult scale like leaves that are bright yellow. In shaded positions the foliage reverts to green.
