Cultivars
Some of the following cultivars may only be found in New Zealand, USA or Great Britain.

'Aurea' Golden Norway Spruce
This plant forms an upright conical habit and the outer foliage is golden-yellow with the inner lime-green. This tree will grow to 8m (25ft) in 20 years.

'Capitata'
This plant forms a low rounded bushy habit with glossy mid-green foliage with the new spring growth pale green. This plant will attain a height of 400mm (16in) in 5 years.

'Cincinnata'
This upright conical tree has a reddish trunk with ascending branches that have pendant branchlets covered in dark green needle like leaves. It is an excellent specimen tree for a large garden in a cool climate.

'Clanbrassiliana'
This slow growing dwarf conifer forms a low flat-topped mound habit up to 1m (3ft) tall in 30 years. It has dark green needle-like leaves that densely cover the plant and is grown in rockeries or as a container specimen.

'Clanbrassiliana Elegans'
This small plant forms a broad conical habit it has bright green foliage in spring and fades to dark green. The end of the leaf sprays pointing downwards. This plant will attain a height of 400mm (16in) in 5 years.

'Globosa Nana'
This small conifer forms a rounded compact habit with light green foliage and is an ideal rockery plant. This plant will attain a height of 500mm (20in) in 10 years and may require occasional pruning to maintain its compact form.

'Gregoryana Parsonii' Parsons Norway Spruce

This low growing conifer forms an irregular rounded habit the foliage is green and will attain a height of 700mm (28in) in 10 years.

'Inversa' Drooping Norway Spruce
This conifer normally forms a prostrate habit but may be trained to form an upright habit. The foliage mid-green and is an excellent spillover plant. This plant will attain a spread of 600m (2ft) in 5 years.

'Little Gem'
This dwarf conifer forms a low rounded habit with bright green compact foliage. This plant will attain a height of 3mm in 5 years and requires a quiet place in the rockery.

'Maxwellii' Maxwell Spruce

This low slow growing conifer forms a rounded habit with an irregular out line. The foliage is green and will attain a height of 300mm (1ft) in 20 years.

'Nidiformis' Birds Nest Spruce
This small conifer forms a dish-shaped habit with the foliage radiating away from the centre forming a central depression. (Birds Nest shape). New growth is light green turning darker with age and will attain a height of 300mm (1ft) in 10 to 12 years.

'Minutifolia'
This slow growing conifer has dark green foliage and forms a low rounded habit up to 600mm (2ft) tall. It is planted in small gardens or rockeries as a specimen.

'Phylicoides'
This slow growing conical shrub to tree has conspicuous short thick bright green leaves that are evenly spaced along the pendant branchlets.

'Pumila Glauca'
This dwarf conifer has rounded to upright habit with blue-green foliage. This plant will attain a height of 40mm (1?in)in 5 years. There are many 'Pumila' cultivars including 'Pumila Nigra'with simular features.

'Pygmaea' Pygmy Spruce
This miniature conifer forms a rounded bun habit with irregular dense grey to mid-green foliage. This plant will attain a height of 400mm (16in) in 25 to 30 years.

'Reflexa' Weeping Norway Spruce
This prostrate conifer has drooping dark green foliage and forms a sprawling habit with a strong trunk. This plant will attain a height of 750mm (2ft) in 5 years and requires an open position to grow.

'Repens' Creeping Spruce
This prostrate conifer forms a low mound habit with mid-green foliage and will attain a spread of 1.2 metres (5ft) in 20 years.

'Virgata'
This upright tree has spreading branches forming a conical habit with pendulous twiggy branchlets that have dark green leaves. It is grown as a specimen in large gardens or parks and tolerates cold conditions.
