This small tree is simular to the species but produces leaves with a white margin.

'Albery's Red'
This small compact tree grows to 3.5m (11ft) tall by 2m (6ft) wide and produces masses of white flowers during early spring, followed by large dark red calyces that persist on the plant.

It prefers a moist well drained soil in a sunny to semi shaded position and the tree is used in small gardens for screening or in large containers. It responds to pruning and mulching with an occasional watering during dry periods. It has a low water requirement once established. (Scale: 1-drop from 3)
