'Eureka'
This erect shrub grows to 5m (15ft) tall by 3m (10ft) wide forming a dense habit. The lanced-shaped leaves are pinkish when young and may be seen up to three times during the year and the bottlebrush-like flower heads to 100mm (4in) long are purplish red appearing during spring.
It prefers a sunny position and grows on well drained moderately fertile moist soils and is used as a specimen plant or used in borders for screening in warm temperate to tropical regions. It is frost tender and slightly drought tolerant and has a medium water requirement once established.
'Pendula'
This small shrub to 2m (6ft is upright with slender pendulous branches and produces bright red flowers that are up to 75mm (3in) long. Commonly grown in small gardens as a specimen plant. It is frost tender and slightly drought tolerant and has a medium water requirement once established.
