'Xanadu'
This evergreen soft wooded perennial forms a low shrub-like habit with undulating pinnatifid leaves are up to 250 mm long by 180 mm wide with deeply lobed margins. They are glossy dark green above with pale green veins and underside.
It prefers a lightly shaded position with protection from hot westerly sun and tolerates neglect once established, bud is frost tender. It grows in a moist well-drained soil with a high organic content and responds to mulching.
Xanadu is planted in gardens for a tropical effect and is used as under story around trees. It may also be grown in pots or tubs and is planted along low borders. Once established it has a high water requirement once established. (Scale: 3-drops from 3), responding to mulch and an occasional deep watering during dry periods, particularly for young plants.
