Propagation
Sow fresh seed during the spring in a well-drained media and keep moist. The seeds may be very difficult to germinate.
Take soft tip and semi-hardwood cuttings during the spring and place in a protected environment until roots appear.

Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green oval to oblong or obovate leathery leaves have an obtuse apex and a short whitish petiole. The upper surface is dotted in glands and the scaly underside is pale brown to silver. The leaves are arranged alternately along the slender brownish branchlets.

Flower: The pendent tubular to campanulate (bell-shaped) flowers have 5-sepals and 5-brilliant red petals that are tipped in yellow-green with 5-excerted yellow stamens. The flowers appear solitary in the leaf axils on a slender pedestal from a winter to spring and sporadically throughout the year. The flowers are pollinated by honey-eating birds.

Fruit: The small dehiscent capsule contains very small seeds thatare viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
