Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle then grow on before planting out. Note:Eucalyptusand Corymbiaspecies are fast-growing and should be planted when the young in order to establish a strong root system.

General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.

Botanic information
Leaf: The silvery grey sessile orbicular to broad ovate leathery textured leaves are up to 80 mm (3? in) wide with an abrupt accumulate to mucronate apex.

Flower: The large pendant white waxy coated buds have a conical operculum and a smooth hypanthium with a long pedestal. The flower colour varies from a dark red to pink and the mass of red stamens are tipped with yellow anthers and appear singularly from autumn to spring or sporadically throughout the year.

Fruit: The large conical (spinning-top like) woody capsules are up to 30 mm (1? in) long by 55 mm (2? in) wide with a level disk and a slightly raised pointed valves. They contain a numerous dark brown winged seeds
