Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification and may take up to 2 year to germinate.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and Insert in a well-drained but moist media and place in a protected environment until roots appear.

Botanic information
Leaf: The resinous mid green minutely pubescent obovate (wedge-shaped) to orbicular leaves are up to 20 mm (µ in) long by 15 mm (? in) wide with a mucronate apex. They have a short thick petiole and are densely arranged alternately long the branches.

Flower: The purplish-pink labiate to tubulate flowers are up to 20 mm (µ in) long with 3-imbricate large obovate sepals that are pubescent on the inside and the corolla has 2-upper petals that are fused and 3-spreading lower lobes. The flowers appear solitary in the leaf axils aaccompanied by a leafy bracts from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The 2 to 4 chambered hard and woody drupe is indehiscent, dry and sometimes splitting at the apex and is accompanied by the persistent flower of bracts. There are 1 to 3 hard-coated seeds per chamber and they are difficult to germinate. The plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
