Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F). The seeds require no pretreatment and germinate in 15 days.

Botanic information
Leaf: The small dark green scale leaves have an obtuse apex and the dorsal surface (underside) are rounded. They are arranged in whorls that are appressed along the branchlets.

Flower: The small yellowish male strobili appear terminally or towards the end of the branchlets. The female cone is solitary or in a small cluster with a short pedicle and appear during spring.

Fruit: The red-brown depressed-globose cone has tuberculate scales and is up to 35mm (1? in) In diameter. They appears singularly or small cluster on fruiting branchlets and persist in the plant after maturity.The small seeds are disbursed by wind and there are about 10 seeds per gram.
