Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring in containers.
Take semi hardwood cuttings during early summer.
Layering of suckers or stems during the growing period.

Care should be taken when selecting a site as the tree has vigorous surface roots that sucker and can lift concrete or block drains.

The large leaves can be used as dinner plates or for wrapping up materials in packaging and the flowers have a pleasant fragrance that persists when cut and is used as an insect repellent.
