Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring in a well-drained media. The seeds require the standard peeling treatment prior to sowing.
Semi hardwood cuttings taken throughout the year and should be placed in a dryer less humid protected environment.
Botanic information
Leaf: The variable dark green leaves are either simple or linear up to 30 mm (1? in) long or bifid-trifid and occasionally paripinnate with up to 5-lobes they are up to 8 mm (? in) long. The petiole is short and the apex is obtuse-mucronate. The upper surface is glabrous and the underside is slightly silky.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have a pedestal up to 4 mm (? in)long and the ovoid yellow to greenish perianth segments are up to 9 mm (? in) wide by 5 mm (¥ in) wide witha protruding reddish pistil to 27 mm (1 in) long. The style is slightly curved at anthesis and the pollen presenter is oblique. The flowers are arranged in a erect to pendant terminal raceme that is up to 15 mm (? in) long and is accompanied by tiny deciduous pubescent ovate bracts. The flowers appear over a long period from a late autumn to late spring and are pollinated by birds.
Fruit: The oblong-acuminate to ellipsoidal follicle is up to 14 mm (? in) long by 6 mm (¥ in) wide with a wrinkled pericarp. The ellipsoidal seeds have revolute margins and are up to 6 mm (¥ in) long by 2 mm wide. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
