Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The soft leathery textured dark green to yellowish lanceolate to falcate leaves are up to 80 mm (3? in) long with an obtuse-mucronate apex. When young the leaves are covered in silvery hairs which are predominantly on the underside.
Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal head that is up to 20mm (µ in) wide and surrounded by yellow leaf-like bracts. The female flower is yellow and the male appears on a different plant (dioecious) from a late winner to early spring.
Fruit: The ovoid cone-like fruiting heads contain small flat winged nuts that are dispersed by wind. The small seed is viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
