Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid to dark green acicular leaves are terete in cross-section and are up to 25 mm (1 in) long with a up turned mucronate apex. They are arranged in a whorl densely towards the end of the greyish branches.
Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal head that is up to 20mm (µ in) wide and surrounded by needle-like bracts. The female flower is pale yellow with the cone-like inflorescence reddish brown and the male is yellowish. They appear during spring on separate plants (dioecious).
Fruit: The glabrous ovoid cone-like fruiting heads contain small flat winged nuts that are dispersed by wind. The small seed is viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
