Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured dark green oblanceolate leaves have an obtuse to acute apex that tends to be reddish. They are arranged densely towards the end of the branches spirally.

Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal head that is surrounded by yellowish to white leaf-like bracts. The female flower is yellow and the male is reddish and surrounded by leafy bracts that are tinged in red or turn red. They appear on separate plants (dioecious) during spring and are pollinated by beetles.

Fruit: The glabrous ovoid cone-like fruiting heads contain small flat winged nuts that are dispersed by wind. The small seed is viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
