Propagation
The seed requires 3-months of warm temperatures than 3-months of cold stratification and then sown during spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Semi hardwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are broad obovate up to 100 mm (4 in) wide with a 10 mm (? in) long petiole that is covered in tomentose. The apex is acute and the base is sub-cordate with the upper surface densely covered in greyish stellate tomentose and the underside is scaly. During autumn leaves turn yellow or orange before falling.

Flower: The sessile cyathiform flowers have 4-purplish red calyx lobes and 4-strap like golden yellow petals that are up to 17 mm (? in) long. They are arranged in a dense axillary cluster that appears from mid-to-late winter.

Fruit: The ovoid capsule is up to 10 mm (? in) wide and is covered densely in stellate tomentose with a yellow brown hairs and is accompanied by the persistent calyx. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
