Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Seedling variation is common and is not the preferred method of propagation.

Division of the clump during spring or late summer by lifting and splitting or by the removal of small side shoots.

Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green thin-leathery broad ovate leaves have an acuminate apex and a long petiole. The upper surface is deeply channelled with white to yellowish lines down the centre and the twisted leaves have undulating margins.

Flower: The funnelform to campanulate flowers have 6-pointed lobes that are white to purplish with 6-exserted stamens. There are 10-flowers arranged in a terminal raceme that is held above the foliage on a leafy scape that is up to 1 m (3 ft) tall and appears from early to mid summer.

Fruit: The small loculicidal capsule has 3-valves and contains numerous tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
