Propagation
Sow fresh seed in containbers or in situ in a prepared bed. The seeds germinate within 15-20 days with over 90% germination rate.
Semi hardwood cuttings taken during the growing period.

Botanic information
Leaf: The large velvety textured elliptical to obovate leaves of up to 800 mm (32 in) long by 200 mm (8 in) wide with an acute to acuminate apex and slightly undulating entire margins. The petiole is up to 100 mm (4 in) long and the upper surface has 3-prominent white or pale green depressed veins with a mid vein and one on either side and the underside is purple.

Flower: The small white to pink salverform flowers are up to 10 mm (? in) wide with 5-obovate petals. It has a prominent style and 10 exserted stamens. The pedestal is short and there are up to 3,000 flowers are arranged in a erect branch panicle that can appear up to three times a year and can bear fruit simultaneously.

Note:
The flowers appear on trees that are above 3 m (10 ft) tall on wood that is 4-5 years old and there are up to 200-inflorescences or more produced on a single tree depending on the size of the tree and its exposure to sun.

Fruit: The dark purple berries are up to 6 mm (¥ in) in diameter and contain 50-200 seeds that are up to 0.5mm in diameter. The small seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
