Propagation
Stratify seeds for 60 days prior to sowing in a well-drained media. Prick out and pot-up when a large enough to handle then grow on for one season before planting out.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings during early summer and insert in a well drained media then place in a humid protected environment until roots appear.

Botanic information
Leaf: The glabrous mid-green narrow elliptical to oblong-obovate leaves have an acute apex that this mucronate and accumulate base with a petiole up to 12 mm (½ in) long. The margin is entire or obtusely serrated above the centre and the underside is pale green.

Flower: The pure white shallow crateriform to cyathiform flowers have 5-triangular sepals and 5-obovate petals up to 40 mm (1? in) wide with a pedestal up to 5 mm (? in) long. There are 6-10 flowers arranged in a raceme that is up to 127 mm (5in) long and appears on the previous season's growth during spring.

Note:
The flower buds resemble white pearls, hence the common name.

Fruit: The green to brown 5-valve dehiscent capsule Is up to 7 mm (¥ in) wide and contains viable seeds but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
