Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are lanceolate to oblong and the margin is slightly serrated towards the acute apex. The mid-rib is prominent on the upper surface and the petiole is very short or the leaf is sessile. During hot dry summers the leaves may be deciduous.
Flower: The faded yellow to cream funnelform flower has 2-expanded lips, the upper lip is divided into 2-lobes and the lower consists of 3-lobes. The 4-stamens are inclosed and the style is slightly exserted. It is up to 45mm (1µin) long and the flowers are arranged in a leafy raceme amongst the foliage and appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The small capsule contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
