Botanic information
Leaf: The ovate leaves have 3-7 deeply pinnate linear lobes with recurved margins and an obtuse apex. The pubescent upper surface is dark green and the underside is whitish-scaly. They are arranged alternately or in a cluster along the twiggy branches.

Flower: The bisexual cyathiform flowers have 5-ovate sepals and 5-rounded white petals with a cluster of the yellowish thread-like stamens in the centre. After the petals have fallen the persistent ovary has clusters of plume-like lavender styles that are up to 50 mm (2in) long. They are arranged singularly or in a small cluster of three appearing throughout summer.

Fruit: The persistent achene has pink-purplish feathery plumes attached and the small seeds are very viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
