Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn without any pre-treatment in containers placed in a protected environment until germination occurs.

Softwood cuttings taken it during early summer and kept moist until roots appear.

Note:
Care should be taken as the seeds are poisonous.


Botanic information
Leaf: The palmate leaves have a petiole up to 100 mm (4 in) long and have 5-7 elliptical-oblong to ovate-lanceolate leaflets with pinnate venation. They are up to 150 mm (6 in) long with an acuminate apex and the petiolule up to 25 mm (1 in) long.
The sticky brown lanceolate buds are imbricate with a pointed apex.

Flower: The funnelform flowers have a 2-lobed calyx up to 8 mm (? in)long and the white to pink tinged petals are up to 18 mm (? in)long with the exserted stamens orange anthers. The flowers are arranged in a dense cylindrical terminal panicle that is up to 200 mm (7µ in)tall by 80 mm (3? in)wide and appear during early summer.

Fruit: The long smooth pendant pear-shaped capsule is up to 80 mm in diameter and contains 1-2 glossy orange brown seeds up to 50 mm (2in) in diameter.
