Propagation
Sow seeds when ripe in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Botanic information
Leaf: The densely greyish-pubescent dark green spathulate to oblanceolate leaves have strongly recurved entire margins. The apex is obtuse and the leaves are arranged in a tight basal rosette.

Flower: The radiate flowers have 40-ray florets that range from lavender blue to violet-blue and rarely yellow. The disk florets are yellow and the flower appears solitary above the foliage from early to midsummer.

Fruit: The small achenes may be pubescent and have 2-short hooks at the apex and a pappus of bristles.
