Propagation
Surface sow fresh seeds in flats during spring and maintain a temperature of 20º to 25º C. (68º to 77º F). Seeds germinate within one month and prick out and pot up when large enough to handle.
Take stem cuttings during summer and place in a protected environment until roots appear, then pot up.
Division of the clump during a late summer.
Note:
Once seedlings have been potted up into 75 mm (3 in) pots they should be then over wintered in a well ventilated unheated glasshouse, tunnel or cold frame. During spring gradually acclimatise plants outdoors and played out with 300 mm (12in) spacing.
Under ideal conditions this plant self sow is readily and may become a weed. Care should be taken by removing seed heads prior to dispersal.
