Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots or in situ. The seeds germinate readly.
Botanic information
Leaf: The broad ovate to ovate-lanceolate leaves are up to 50mm (2in) wide and have an acute to acuminate apex with a petiole up to 20mm (µ in) long. The margins are serrulate to entire and the upper surface is bright green and the underside is dull green. The lower leaves are pinnate with up to 3-pairs of leaflets but are not normally seen.
Flower: The small yellow cyathiform flowers have long slender green sepals up to 9mm (? in) long and 4-spreading obovate petals with exserted stamens. They are arranged in a terminal raceme that becomes elongated after flowering and appear from late spring to early summer and sporadically throughout summer.
Fruit: The cylindrical or flattened silique has valves that are 3-nerved and the tiny seeds are very viable and self-sow readily and under ideal conditions the plant can become a weed.
