Propagation
Sow fresh seed in winter in a prepared bed or place in a cold frame to germinate. the seeds should be allowed to ripen on the plant and properly cleaned seed can be successfully stored.

Botanic information
Leaf: The lower grey green leaves are oblong and the upper leaves are linear up to 50 mm (2 in) long. Both are covered densely in stellate pubescence and the apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.
Note:
The young leaves are edible and are used in salads similar to cress.

Flower: The bright yellow rotate to expand tubulate flowers are up to 25 mm (1 in) wide and have 4-greenish pubescent sepals and 4-oblong petals. They are arranged in a terminal raceme that is held above the foliage on a slender pubescent scape and appear in the second year during a late spring and are pollinated by insects.

Fruit: The pubescent silvery-brown woody capsule is up to 12 mm (½ in) long and contains numerous golden-brown flat seeds that may persist on the plant for some time. The seeds are viable and self sow readily.
