Propagation
Surface sow seeds immediately after collecting and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out when large enough to handle and pot up.
Division of the clump during spring and reduce the foliage.
Botanic information
Leaf: The 2-3 arching pinnate leaves have obovate leaflets with 3-distinct lobes and are dark green above and glaucous beneath.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have 2-sepals and 4-petals with the outer two paired having a short basal spur and the inner two are broadly winged. The reddish pedestal is up to 8 mm (? in)long and 6-16 flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary raceme that appears in succession from late spring to early autumn.
Fruit: The pendant dehiscent capsule has a long pedestal and contains numerous glossy seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
