Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green basal pinnate leaves have 5-lobes (leaflets) that obovate to oblong and again lobed. The stem leaves are similar with 3- lobes and both leaves have long reddish pubescent petiole. The upper surface is glossy dark to mid-green and the underside is pale green and both covered in white pubescence.
Flower: The solitary single pale white crateriform flowers have 5-broad ovate petals with a central cluster of numerous yellow stamens. The nodding flowers are held high above the foliage on a slender pubescent scape and appears from mid spring to early summer.
Fruit: The small achene is accompanied by the persistent long plumose style and the seed head has a fluffy appearance. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to keep true to type.
