Propagation
Sow seeds as soon as they are ripe in containers and place in a cold frame until germination occurs. Prick out pot when large enough to handle. When planting out the plants 600 mm (2 ft) apart.

Soft tip cuttings of a non-flowering shoot that during early summer. Division of rooted stems taken during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable leathery textured leaves are oblong to ovate elliptical with a serrated to dentate margin with an obtuse apex and a short brownish petiole.

Flower: The cyathiform flowers have 8- creamy white petals and smaller sepals with black pubescence and a central boss of numerous exserted golden-yellow stamens. They are held above the foliage on a black pubescent slender scape that is up to 200 mm (8 in) tall and appear from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small achene has a persistent plume-like style and is disbursed by wind. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
