Propagation
Sow fresh seeds in flats during early autumn and maintain a temperature of 20º to 30º C. (68º to 86º F). Germination occurs in 15 to 60 days.
Divide the clump during spring or autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The thick textured dark green oblanceolate to broad-lanceolate leaves have an entire to slightly scalloped margins. the apex is obtuse and the leaves tend to be spoon-shaped.
Flower: The shallow cyathiform flowers have spreading petals that have bluish lines that radiate out from the centre and excerted stamens. It has small green sepals and the pubescent pedestal is purplish. They are arranged in a terminal raceme that is up to 250mm (10in) long and open consecutively during early summer.
Fruit: The tiny flattened loculicidal capsule is notched and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
