Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings during the growing period (spring to summer) and use the flowering stem. Cut a 200 mm long piece and remove all but two leaves.

Layering and budding.
Take hardwood cuttings during autumn.

Botanic information
Leaf: The grey green pinnate leaves have 7-13 broad-ovate to obovate leaflets that are up to 20mm (µ in) long by 10mm (? in) wide and have crenate to serrated margins. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.

Flower: The fragrant yellow cyathiform flowers have 5-lanceolate sepals and 5 or double broad obovate petals. They appear solitary in the leaf axils on a pedicle that is up to 16mm (? in) during spring. There are 2-forms one with double or semi-double flowers and another that has single flowers.

Fruit: The spherical to obovoid pome (hips) are purplish-brown to black-brown and are accompanied by the persistent reflexed sepals and have a pedicle up to 16mm (? in) long. The small seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
