Propagation
Stratify seeds in a moist media for up to 60 days at 7.2ºC(45°F).
Take hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn and place in a protected environment under mist.

Note:
Care should be taken as the berries are possibly toxic and are attractive to children.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark to bluish green oblong to ovate or lanceolate leaves are up to 60 mm (2? in) long by 38 mm (1½ in) widewith an acute apex and a short pale green petiole. The leaves glabrous or softly hairy and appear during early spring and are arranged in opposite pairs along the twiggy branchlets.

Flower: The pinkish-red sessile tubulate flowers are weakly 2-lips with the upper lip divided into 5-spreading lobes and the lower lip is spreading. They are up to 25 mm (1 in) long with exserted stamens and are arranged in pairs with a peduncle up to 15 mm (? in) long in the leaf axils and appear along the shoots during late spring.

Fruit: The red to yellow-orange showy berries are up to 7 mm (¥ in) in diameter and appear in small clusters over the plant during summer. They contained numerous tiny very viable seeds that are dispersed by birds but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
