Propagation
Sow seeds when ripe in containers and place in a cold frame to germinate. Pick out one large enough to handle and pot on for one season.

Semi hardwood cuttings from spring to autumn and placed in a protected environment with bottom heat until roots appear. Hardwood cuttings taken from autumn to winter.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to ovate oblong up to 60 mm (2? in) wide with acuminate apex and a petiole up to 5 mm (¥ in) long. The dull green upper surface is slightly pubescent and the underside is densely covered in whitish pubescence.

Flower: The narrow sessile funnelform flowers have 5-sepals and 5-imbricate petals that are pubescent on the exterior and an exserted style with an inferior ovary. There are 1-3 flowers arranged on a short lateral branch and appear profusely from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The long slender oblong pubescent woody capsule has 2-valves and is dehiscent from the top releasing the small seeds that may be winged. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
