Propagation
Stratify seeds in a moist media for up to 60 days at 7.2ºC(45°F).
Take hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn and place in a protected environment under mist.


Botanic information
Leaf: The thin textured dark green ovate-oblong to ovate-lanceolate leaves are up to 80 mm (3? in) long with an acuminate apex and a rounded base with a petiole up to 5 mm (¥ in) long. The leaves tend to be pendent and are arranged in opposite pairs.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have 2-lips with spreading white ciliate lobes that age to yellow or light orange. The upper lip is 5-lobed and the lower lip is obovate and the stamens are exserted with yellow anthers. They are arranged in pairs in the leaf axils on a peduncle that is up to 4 mm (? in) long and have a long flowering period from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small bright red to black globose berries up to 4 mm (? in) in diameter and mature during autumn. They contained numerous tiny very viable seeds that are dispersed by birds but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
