Propagation
Collect seeds when green and they can be sowed directly or stratify for 2 to 3 months and then place in a cold frame. Germination may take up to 2 years.


Botanic information
Leaf: The broad ovate leaves have 3-lobes with the centre being larger with a long acuminate apex. The margins are biserrate and the reddish petiole is up to 20 mm (µ in) long. During autumn leaves turn orange before falling.

Flower: The small cyathiform (cup-shaped) flowers have 5-reddish green tepals and have a short pedestal. They are arranged in a pendant raceme that appears with the foliage during mid-spring.

Fruit: The small greenish twin samara has wings that diverged horizontally and are partially hidden by the persistent calyx.
