Propagation
Collect seeds and remove pulp then stratify seeds for 2-3 months and sow in prepared beds during autumn.

Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoot during late spring (after flowering) and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer. Place under mist in a protected environment until roots appear.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to obovate up to 76 mm (3 in) wide with an abrupt acuminate apex and a broad cuneate base with a petiole up to 12 mm (½ in) long.The finely pubescent glossy upper surface has 5-6 pairs of veins and the pale green underside is pubescent.During autumn leaves may turn reddish or silver before falling.

Flower: The tiny greenish-white crateriform flowers have 4-sepals and 4-petals with 4-slightly exserted stamens. They are arranged in a dense umbel-like cluster and accompanied by 4-7 petal-like white pinkish bracts that are up to 60 mm (2? in)wide. They appear during spring.

Fruit: The small fleshy elliptical orange-red drupe contains a smooth stone. The fruit is used in preservatives and jams and the seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
