Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Division of the rhizome during spring.
Basal cuttings during spring and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves have 7-deep lobes with the dentate margins and an acute apex. They are held above the ground on a long petiole and the leaf upper surface has a prominent veination.

Flower: The upward facing cyathiform flowers have 5-pubescent sepals and 5-purplish to sky-blue petals and have a short pedestal. They are arranged terminally on a branch stem in a dense cyme and appear above the foliage from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The dry capsule is a schizocarp containing multiple carpelsand is indehiscent. The fruit is accompanied by the persistent sepals and commonly with the coiled styles. The tiny seedsare dispersed by wind and water and are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
