Propagation
Division of the clump during early spring before the growth begins.
Sow fresh seeds in containers during autumn and place in a cold frame until germination occurs. Prick out and pot up during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The sub-sessile leaves clasp the stem and are broad-elliptical to ovate up to 65 mm (2½ in)wide with an acuminate apex. The upper surface is dark green and the underside is pale green with prominent ribbed venation. They are alternately arranged sparsely along the greenish stems.

Flower: The tubular to campanulate flowers have 6-yellow spathulate-oblanceolate perianth segments with 6-stamens and a short pedestal to 5 mm (¥ inlong. There are 1-3 flowers arranged in a terminal umbel on a short peduncle and appear from early spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small globose berries appear from summer to autumn and persisted on the plant. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
