Propagation
Sow fresh seed as viability is short in situ or stratified first before sowing indoors or sow in flats and place in a cold frame.

Germination is sporadic and occurs between 14-90 days. Prick out when large enough to handle and pot up into an organic mix, then grow on for one year before planting out, space 150 mm to 200 mm (9 in) apart.

Division of the rhizome during early spring while dormant; but may be difficult to strike.
Simple layering during the growing period.
