Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during autumn and place in a cold frame until germination occurs, during mid to late winter. Prick out and pot up when large enough to handle. Stored seeds require stratification for 90 days at -1.6ºC (32 to 36°F).


Botanic information
Leaf: The silvery green leaves are broad-lanceolate to ovate with an obtuse apex and a short petiole. The upper surface is mid-green and the underside is densely covered in silvery tomentum.

Flower: The crateriform flowers have 5-obovate white petals with numerous stamens that have dark anthers and are longer than the styles. They are arranged in an umbel-like raceme that appears prolifically over the plant during mid-spring and are pollinated by insects.

Fruit: The small yellow brown globose pome appears in a cluster during summer on a short stalk and has a bitter and astringent taste.
