Propagation
Collect fresh seed when green and so directly in containers and then place on a cold frame until germination occurs in spring. Stored seeds required cool moist stratification and best germination results occur when seeds are sown in organic rich moist to wet soils.
Note:
It has spreading fibrous roots that makes the tree wind-firm and in dry sites the tree is a smaller with a crooked trunk and an open crown. Under cultivation the tree attains a height of around 8 m (25 ft).
Botanic information
Leaf: The pinnate leaves have a long petiole and consist of 5-9 ovate almost a sessile leaflets that are up to 120 mm (4µ in) long by 40 mm (1? in) wide. The apex is acuminate and the base is cuneate with prominent pinnate veination on the upper surface. During autumn leaves turn yellow before falling and this is a feature of the tree.
Flower: The tiny apetalous male and female flowers are found on separate trees (dioecious) and are arranged in a panicle that appear with the foliage during early spring.
