Propagation
Collect fresh seed when green and so directly in containers and then place on a cold frame until germination occurs in spring.

Stored seeds required cool moist stratification and best germination results occur when seeds are sown in organic rich moist to wet soils.


Botanic information
Leaf:The glabrous pinnate leaves have a pubescent petiole up to 45 mm (1µ in) long and consists of 5-7 broadly ovate to broadly lanceolate or elliptical leaflets with a petiolule to 15 mm (? in) long.

The leaflets are up to 50 mm (2 in) long by 30 mm (1? in) wide with the terminal one being largest. The texture is thin leathery with a long-acuminate apex and the margin is deeply serrated. The new growth is a pale green maturing to dark

Flower: The tree is polygamous and the staminate flowers have a small cup-shaped calyx and the corolla has 4-white to yellowish linear petals are up to 6 mm (¥ in) long.

The bisexual flowers are similar but with larger lobes up to 8 mm (? in) long and the flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary panicle to 90 mm (3½ in) wide appearing profusely after the foliage from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The spathulate to oblong winged samara are up to 5 mm (¥ in) wide and mature to light brown. They are arranged in a pendant cluster and are disbursed by wind and water.
