Propagation
Collect and clean fresh seed then sow in a well drained moist media, stratify for 2 to 3 months and germination takes up to 12 months. Prick out when large enough to handle and pot on.
Semi hardwood cuttings with a heel taken in summer and placed in a well drained media on the misting bench and roots appear within 8-weeks.
Plants may be grafted or layered.
Difficult to transplant as it has very fine roots.

All parts of this plant are poisonous and if ingested it will cause stomach upset.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are oblanceolate to narrow elliptical up to 25 mm (1 in) wide with an acuminate apex and is short petiole. The glossy upper surface has a prominent mid-rib and the underside is dull green. In cold conditions the shrub becomes deciduous.
Flower: The deep pink buds open to whitish apetalous flowers that have a cylindrical calyx tube with 4-spreading, pointed fleshy lobes that are pinkish on the outside. There are 7-15 blooms arranged in a terminal or axillary cluster that appears during late winter.
Fruit: The small dark spherical drupe is fleshy and produces tiny seeds that loose viability quickly and the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
