Propagation
Collect seeds when green and they can be sowed directly or stratify for 2 to 3 months and then place in a cold frame. Germination may take up to 2 years.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate-cordate up to 65mm (2½in) wide with a cordate base and the margin may be 3-lobed. The apex is acuminate and the slender petiole is up to 60mm (2?in) long. During autumn the dark green leaves turn orange-yellow before falling.

Flower: The tiny unisexual cyathiform flowers are green and are arranged in slender pendant axillary raceme that is up to 76mm (3in) long. The female flowers appear on the longest raceme during late spring.

Fruit: The reddish brown twin samara have long reddish brown wings that diverge at an obtuse angle, almost horizontally and is partially hidden by the persistent corolla.
