Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in flat and prick out when large enough to handle.

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and placed in a protected environment until roots appear, keep moist.


Botanic information
Leaf: The pubescent aromatic leaves are deltoid-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate with an acute apex. The ciliate margins are entire to serrate and the leaf has a soft texture. The immature foliage is sessile and the adult leaves have a petiole up to 20 mm (µ in)long.

Flower: The 2-lipped campanulate flowers have a 5-lobed pubescent calyx with a reddish veins. The corolla is up to 30 mm (1? in) long and is inflated at the base and has a 5-lobed upper lip and the exserted pale pink lower lip is fringed. There are 2-6 flowers are arranged in an axillary raceme that appear from spring to summer and the flowers are pollinated by bumble bees.

Fruit: There are 4-oblong glabrous black nutlets are found in the persistent calyx and each containing tiny seeds. These small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
