Botanic information
Leaf: The broad-ovate to orbicular leaves have 7-9 lobes with an obtuse apex and the petiole is up to 200 mm (7µ in)long. The red tinged leaves are arranged in a radiating pattern from the centre of the plant.

Flower: The small urceolate flowers have a greenish calyx with 5- pubescent sepals and 5-slender white recurved petals up to 6mm (¥ in) long with exserted stamens that have orange anthers. They have a short pedestal and are arranged in a panicle with a long peduncle that are tiered along a slender reddish scape up to 600 mm (2ft) tall. They appear above the foliage during late spring and are hummingbird attractive.

Fruit: The tiny capsule is dehiscent between the beaks and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
