Propagation
Sow fresh seed when ripe or during spring, in containers and pot up when large enough to handle. Cuttings may be difficult to strike.


Botanic information
Leaf: The palmately lobed leaves have 5-7palmate lobes and its shape is triangular-ovate with a cordate base, up to 150 mm (6 in) wide. The upper surface is glossy green and the underside is pale green. It has a slender green petiole that is up to 150 mm (6 in) long.

Flower: The bisexual funnelform flowers have 5-sepals and 5-oblong reflexed petals that are purplish-red and marked with darker veins that become whitish towards the base. The greenish staminal column is exserted and the long slender peduncle is recurved and ascending. They are arranged singularly in the leaf axils towards the end of the branches and appear during summer or sporadically throughout the year.

Fruit: The disk-shaped schizocarp capsule has 6-8 segments that that are glabrous to pubescent and contain a single seed.
