Propagation
Sow fresh seed after storing in a dark place for 3-6 months in containers during spring.

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and place on a misting bench. Take care when transplanting as the roots of very fine and can be damaged easily.


Botanic information
Leaf: The small ovate sessile leaves have a pungent mucronate apex and the texture is stiff and leathery. They are arranged densely along the stems and tend to be bent downwards.

Flower: The red to pink narrow tubulate pendant flowers have expended pointed lobes and a short fringed calyx. They are arranged in the leaf axils on the underside of the branchlets appearing throughout winter to early spring.

Fruit: The small capsule is loculicidally dehiscent and has numerous seeds that are dispersed by water and gravity. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
