Propagation
Pre soak seeds for 12 hours prior to sowing and place in a greenhouse to germinate. Germination occurs within 10 days and seedlings should be picked out when large enough to handle. Alternatively seeds can be sown in situ during late spring in a prepared bed.

Botanic information
Leaf: The trifoliate leaves have 3-thin ovate leaflets with an accumulate apex and are up to 150 mm (6 in) long by 100 mm (4 in) wide. The textured upper surface is dark green and the underside is pale green.

Flower: The white, pink, purple papillionate flowers have a contorted keel and a short pedestal. There are up to 12- flowers arranged loosely in an axillary raceme that appears during spring.

Fruit: The flattened or rounded pods have a fleshy texture and contain elongated seeds that are up to 25mm (1 in) long. The pods are vitamin rich and may be eaten raw or cooked. Care should be taken as the consumption of large quantities of raw mature seeds are poisonous.
