Propagation
So fresh seeds during autumn in containers and place in a cold frame to germinate. Prick out and pot up when large enough to handle and plant out the following year.

Soft tip cuttings taken during early summer and placed in a protected environment until roots appear. Take care when transplanting as it dislikes root disturbance.

Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green leathery textured glabrous leaves have an obtuse apex and a very short petiole. The underside is pale green and the margins are entire or have inconspicuous widely spaced serrations. During autumn leaves turn shades of red before falling.

Flower: The tiny pendant urceolate flower consists of 4-5 fused petals that form an urn-shape with 8-10 stamens that are awned and the pedestal up to 12 mm long. They appear singly or in pairs in the leaf axils towards the end of the yellowish green branchlets, from late spring to early summerwith the leaves and are pollinated by bees.

Fruit: The small dark blue to purplish black berries contain numerous tiny seeds that are disbursed by birds and mammals. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
